Saks Off 5th shutting ‘majority’ of stores. See locations to close.
Saks Global, owner of luxury brand Saks Fifth Avenue and discount division Saks Off 5th, is downsizing following its recent bankruptcy filing.
Saks Off 5th shared a social media post on Feb. 2, announcing to customers that “Saksoff5th.com, Neiman Marcus Last Call stores, and the ‘majority’ of Saks OFF Fifth stores are closing.” This development comes after Saks Global announced its Chapter 11 filing and leadership changes on Jan. 14.
“Select stores will participate in closing sales, which will extend over the next several weeks,” Saks Off 5th’s post reads. “We encourage you to shop for your favorite brands while merchandise selection is best.”

Described as “strategic actions,” the closures come as the company continues to access the initial $500 million portion of a $1.75 billion financing package. The closures only apply to Saks Off 5th and Last Call retail locations, according to Saks Global.
Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores, as well as their ecommerce experiences, are “open and serving customers as usual,” according to the chain of luxury retailers.
Here’s the latest on the closures, including which stores are holding closing sales.
Saks Global said in a Jan. 29 announcement that the operational “wind down” of Saks Off 5th Online was the result of “sharpening its focus on luxury retail and full-price selling across its iconic portfolio.”
“These actions are part of the Company’s ongoing evaluation of its operational footprint to ensure it remains well positioned to invest in areas that present the greatest opportunities for sustainable, profitable growth for its luxury retail brands and partners,” added Saks Global.

Closing sales at certain Saks Off 5th stores and all remaining Last Call locations began Jan. 31.
The company also plans to use the dozen or so Saks Off 5th stores that will remain open as a “selling channel” for residual inventory from Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.
According to Saks Global, the website saksoff5th.com is also in the process of shutting down operations. The website, which is a separate legal entity from Saks Global, is hosting an online closing sale.
