Get increased savings on hotel stays with a Chase Sapphire Reserve
After a big overhaul earlier this summer, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® is already gaining more benefits for travelers.
Starting on Jan. 1, 2026, Chase is updating both the Sapphire Reserve and the new Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ with new credits for hotel stays. These updates come only a few months after Chase revamped the Sapphire Reserve and introduced the Sapphire Reserve for Business in June.
Before you start planning for 2026 travel, here’s how to make sure you’re maximizing the Sapphire Reserve next year.
There are two updates that will affect both Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders starting Jan. 1:
This is an existing benefit you can already get with a Sapphire Reserve card. Right now, you’ll earn up to $250 in statement credits from January through June and up to $250 in statement credits from July through December on eligible stays at The Edit properties.
Starting in 2026, you can still earn up to $500 on prepaid The Edit bookings with a two-night minimum, but you won’t be restricted to the separate six-month time periods. Instead, you’ll automatically get up to $250 for each prepaid booking you make, up to a total $500 annually.
Let’s say you don’t plan to travel much at the beginning of the year, but you do have a few trips planned for the fall. Instead of losing the $250 credit that now applies only from January through June, you can still earn the full credit in the second half of the year. For example, you’ll get up to $250 toward your stay with The Edit in September 2026 and another $250 toward your next trip booked with The Edit in November 2026.
In 2026, you can also get up to $250 in statement credits for prepaid Chase Travel hotel bookings with select hotels. Those include:
Not only can you earn the statement credit, but you’ll also earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points on your spending above the credit amount. Plus, get loyalty points with the individual hotel programs for the entire amount. Like other credits, this one applies to prepaid bookings with a two-night minimum stay.

The new Sapphire Reserve hotel credits can help you save a significant amount of money on hotel stays — especially if you use them in combination with other Sapphire card benefits.
Let’s say you want to plan a winter vacation to Palm Springs over a long weekend between Feb. 5 and 10. You can book a five-night stay at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa for a total of $2,438.21 through Chase Travel today.
But your Sapphire Reserve benefits will significantly reduce the cost. First, you’ll save $250 with the new Chase Travel hotel credit, bringing your cost down to $2,188.21.
Note: The new hotel credit does not apply until 2026. The cash price for these dates will likely change by the time you can book and redeem the credit.
You can also use your Chase Sapphire Reserve’s annual travel credit, worth up to $300 in statement credits each account anniversary toward travel purchases. If you max out the full credit with this purchase, your new total will be $1,888.21.
That’s still a significant amount, but you’ll save $550 off the standard price. Plus, you can begin earning toward your next award trip with the rest of the purchase. The Sapphire Reserve earns 8x points on Chase Travel spending. For the remaining $1,888.21, you can earn about 15,105 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to use on a future trip.
